Making her Brews & Soul debut alongside the Soulstice Crew next month, will be the perfabulicious Marie Garaccio!…

No stranger to the club scene as a punter over the years (or for that matter to the ‘burbs of Barnet) Marie is making a name for herself on the other side of the decks as a DJ. Taking place on Saturday 21st April, Marie follows in the footsteps of the likes of Nicky Holloway, Stretch Taylor, Fat Freddie MJP & Anna Cee who’ve all guested at previous sessions.

Marie claims that as much as it reads like a cliché, she actually did grow up in a house constantly filled with music, whether it was reggae, soul, disco or pop, her parents were always dancing & singing along & making sure their kids joined in. So it makes sense that music is, & always has been, the centre of everything she does.

“But I never dreamt of becoming a DJ,” Marie says, “I was always happy attending events & enjoying watching & hearing the DJs do their job.” Previously a regular on Stomp Radio with our Soulstice maestro Gilo a few years back, she then met a guy called Dave Cooper at a soul week in Lloret de Mar. They spoke about music & Marie mentioned her obsession with a DJ outfit called Six Million Steps, who she’d been following for several years.  She told Dave to check them out because they played great soul & disco on their internet radio shows & put together the slickest mixes she’d ever heard.  So it came as bit of a shock when Dave then told Marie he was a part of the 6MS team!… & the rest, as they say, is history. You can now hear Marie & the guys (Dave & JJ) every other Saturday morning at 11am GMT on their 6MS Sessions on Stomp.

Advance tickets for #GlitterballBrews @ The Black Horse, Wood Street are still available priced £5 from the venue or via Universe.com (online booking fee applies) or it’s a tenner at the door on the night. Once again Brews & Soul residents Jester Groove & Double J will be helping supply the soulful beats while the staff at The Black Horse serve up those liquid treats! There’ll also a chance to win a pair of tickets to go to Summer Soulstice 2018 this year!
