The Big Payback

Our Brews & Soul Will Flow…
This Sunday’s Big Payback: Hog Roast Soul (Aug 25) is celebrating the handover of £25,000 to Cherry Lodge Cancer Care with good grooves, fine food & a specially limited edition Summer Soulstice Soul Brew too!
The Barnet area has long been associated with brewing & not just drinking good beer! The location of the historic Hadley Brewery is just around the corner, which was founded in the early part of the 18th century & where ales where made until 1938. The brewery was subsequently used for storing beers & by 1967 had been bought out by Whitbread, who ultimately closed it, with the building finally demolished in 1978.
35 years later, Barnet now boasts a new, albeit smaller brewery, with the brew plant purchased from the Norfolk based Iceni Brewery. For those in the know, it is a one & a half plant made from old cellar tanks refurbished to a very high standard & clad in wood. They now regularly brew up several different specials, which now includes on their list Summer Soulstice’s own Soul Brew! It will be on sale @ a special price @ this Sunday’s event, which is also an additional fundraiser for Cherry Lodge, organised by manager Ray who told Soulstice HQ “Soul Brew is a light, slightly cloudy beer somewhere between a lager & a bitter, with lots of hops & tastes of honey with hints of blackcurrant & pineapple.” It definitely sounds like something that will suit the soul boys & soul babes alike!
The plan is for our limited edition Soul Brew to make guest appearances at all future Soulstice events @ The Black Horse, including the days before & during next year’s SS8 weekend in June!…
Cheers!
