Summer’s Winter Warmers

This week saw Summer Soulstice’s Richard Weekes & Dave James see some much needed ‘warmth’ given to local youth football team Whetstone Wanderers before a recent match at the OE’s in Barnet.

In our commitment to help local causes where we can, Summer Soulstice have sponsored the ‘cold weather’ training tops for the club’s Under 15’s Lions side for the 2017/18 season. These new red tops proudly feature our now familiar logo on the team’s chests.

Whetstone Wanderers YFC, who play & train at the OE’s Memorial Playing Fields, were formed in 1991 & has grown in size over the years. In 2012 they were awarded the Charter Standand Community Club status which is the highest award available in Grass Roots Football. The club continues to strive & in the 2015/16 season they had 39 teams playing in 4 different leagues. Always keen to look for new ways of supporting their young players, the club thanked Summer Soulstice for this sponsorship & looked forward to a lasting relationship with us.

Mark Wetherill, whose son plays in the team, feels supporting youth football is very important, adding “helping kids engage in sport should be highly commended.” With the whole squad now kitted out, we hope the new tops can help a little towards these young Lions doing well this season & in future ones.
