Let Loose The Juice

The Beetle Juice guys have fast become favourites at Summer Soulstice. Started by Surrey brothers Julian & Jonny & their friend Harry, they had the idea of converting a 1970’s VW van into a cocktail bar & to ‘take the party to the people’!

Between them they had work experience in bars, travel agents, newspaper classified sales & even talent agencies. They also had a VW camper for trips to festivals & holidays then, in an epiphany moment, they thought of converting it to a cocktail bar. So in 2012 they took the angle grinder to their cherished camper van & chopped out a side & the roof.

The boys remember it being one of the scariest things they’d ever have done, although serving cocktails at their very first wedding reception runs close. Within a few weeks Gracie, their first mobile VW bar was born & they attended their first ever event. In their first full year alone (2013) they attended almost 50 different events, several of which were multi-day festivals or events.

The boys made their Summer Soulstice debut in 2014, despite being booked for the previous year, when Gracie suffered some technical faults on the way to SS7. However at SS8, even though the day got off to a damp start, the guys were soon proving themselves as a great addition to the Soulstice experience.

Last year continued to go from strength to strength for the guys & continued establishing Beetle Juice as a recognised brand. By the end of the 2014 summer season there were 4 converted VW Camper Vans in the Beetle Juice fleet, with Gina, Bella & Alice added & the latter being their first van that they commissioned to a specialist company to create to their design, rather than totally build it themselves.

Now in 2015 the fleet continues to grow (10 & counting) based in the Midlands, the North, Wales, the South West, as well as at their HQ in the South East. But most importantly, the guys return (in just the one VW camper) to our field of dreams & this year’s Summer Soulstice.
