Hil St Soul confirmed for Summer Soulstice

We are excited to announce that British soul artist Hil St Soul, aka Hilary Mwelwa, has been added to our line-up this June!

A singer of many styles, Hilary is comfortable performing everything from classic soul and smooth jazz, to uptempo funk and gospel. Her versatility has earned her the honour of Best Newcomer by Blues & Soul magazine at the turn of the 2000’s and she has gone on to perform at shows and festivals across the UK and Europe, sharing stages with the like of D’Angelo, Kelis, Macy Gray and Angie Stone.

Hilary is also an accomplished and prolific songwriter for fellow artists too, with Incognito, Maysa Leak and others performing and recording her compositions. Her style doesn’t lack drama, but she’s more subtle than demonstrative. Not as reclining as Sade, and not as overwhelming as Mica Paris, she’s found a comfortable niche that appeases classic soul fanatics and loyal R&B/pop fans without disenfranchising hip-hop lovers.

There have been four Hil St Soul albums released since her much lauded debut ‘Soul Organic’ first hit the streets back in 2000, including ‘Copasetik & Cool’ (2004), ‘Soulidified’ (2006) and ‘Black Rose’ (2008).
