SOULUTIONS

Louise Mehan Header

SouLutions are a soul band hailing from the North East of England, put together by Steve Lee & Louise Mehan in early 2014 so they could showcase their own material they’d amassed from the previous 7 years…

Louise MehanWith big support from the likes of Jazz FM’s Pete YoungBill Buckley (from soulandjazzandfunk.com) & BBC Radio Essex’s legendary soul man John Leach, the SouLutions sound is heavily influenced by Philly & modern soul.

Their first release was the successful ‘Listen’ which was remixed by the Drizabone Soul Family & mooted as the soul track of 2014 – not only acclaimed in the UK, but also receiving rave reviews in Europe & the United States. The track also enjoyed some success on the Traxsource download sales chart, after the Mike Maurro Remix was included on Tom Glide‘s label, 1st anniversary collection album ‘Sweet Summer Soul 2014’, which reached No.2.

Further singles ‘Mr Sun’ & ‘Philly Line’ then followed, also receiving favourable reviews, while their long awaited debut album, initially hampered by technical difficulties & a change of management, was finally released at the end of 2015. The following year, Steve & Louise released the highly successful single ‘I Got To Party’ which reached No.2 in the Amazon R&B Chart & was remixed by the one & only John Morales. In 2017, they continued to tour the UK & they supported Melba Moore at her show at London’s Jazz Café.

They made the long journey south to join us in the late afternoon sunshine at our 9th event, which as we expected, proved to be a firm favourite with the Soulstice crowd!
