Hailing from England’s north east, SouLutions (Steve Lee and Louise Mehan) is a soul band that showcases their own material which they’ve amassed over many years…

Initially supported by Jazz FM’s late, great Peter Young, as well as the likes of Bill Buckley (soulandjazzandfunk.com) and BBC Radio Essex’s legendary soul man John Leach, it was evident the SouLutions sound was heavily influenced by Philly and modern soul.

Their first release was the successful ‘Listen’ which was remixed by the Drizabone Soul Family and mooted as the soul track of 2014 – not only acclaimed in the UK, but also receiving rave reviews in Europe and the United States. The track also enjoyed some success on the Traxsource download sales chart, after the Mike Maurro Remix was included on Tom Glide‘s label, first anniversary collection album ‘Sweet Summer Soul 2014’, which reached No.2.

Further singles ‘Mr Sun’ and ‘Philly Line’ then followed, also receiving favourable reviews, while their long awaited debut album, initially hampered by technical difficulties and a change of management, was finally released at the end of 2015. The following year, Steve and Louise released the highly successful single ‘I Got To Party’ which reached No.2 in the Amazon R&B Chart and was remixed by the one and only John Morales. In 2017, they continued to tour the UK and they supported Melba Moore at her show at London’s Jazz Café. In 2018 they released their album ‘Thankful’ and the single ‘Who’s Been Kissing You’, a year later.

Steve and Louise made the long journey south to join us in the late afternoon sunshine at event number nine, which as we expected, proved them to be a firm favourite with the Summer Soulstice crowd!
