Daisy Hicks

English-born, Australian-raised, music has always been a part of Daisy’s life, her dad being legendary drummer Tony Hicks from jazz-rock trio Back Door and a close relation to legendary rock & blues artist Chris Rea…

Classically trained, Daisy began her music career as a jazz singer, touring Australia and the USA. When back in Sydney, she was entertaining thousands of basketball fans at the Sydney Kings’ games and captivating audiences at some of the leading music venues in the Australian capital of Canberra, while she was just 14 years of age.

By the time she was 19, Daisy deviated from tradition & an aspiring jazz career to expand her horizons and gain broader influences overseas. Landing in London, she was quickly signed by Concept Music. Her debut album ‘Mistress’ broke into the UK, Europe and Japan and two more albums have followed in recent years. Daisy has also shared the stage with the likes of Gabrielle, Boy George, Gloria Gaynor, Womack and Womack and has played countless festivals and live performances around the globe.

“Daisy is a remarkable singer and gifted songwriter whose music is laced with eclectic influences ranging from silky jazz, soulful country to soaring ballads.”

 Marie Claire Magazine (UK)

In 2018 Daisy went back to her musical roots, writing/co-producing a series of EP releases. The first, ‘French Café’ received plenty of support from UK soul, funk and jazz stations and was followed up by ‘I Chose You’, ‘Upside’ and ‘When I’m Gone’, the latter featuring a superb remix by MetLife (aka Full Intention‘s Mike Gray and Jon Pearn).

Daisy continues to be widely supported by soul and jazz radio stations and features in the UK Soul Charts regularly, with her latest release the EP ‘Lifeline’ being released in January 2020. And it was her appearance at Summer Soulstice 2018 which was perfect timing for both us and Daisy herself, as she brilliantly showcased her music to the Main Stage crowd, that fine sunny Saturday.
