Alison Limerick

Alison’s singing career began in the musical ‘Labelled With Love’, based on the music of Squeeze, she went on to perform in other musicals like Webber’s ‘Starlight Express’ and Simon Callow’s ‘The Pajama Game’…

Her session work was diverse, ranging from Pete Murphy to The Style Council and This Mortal Coil, along with numerous other artists.

Alison’s debut album, ‘’And Still I Rise’ was released in March 1992 and included both ’Where Love Lives’ and her top 20 hit ‘Make it On My Own’. The same year she won the Best Female Artist at 1992’s DMC Awards.

Her second album was ‘With A Twist’, on which she collaborated with Frankie Knuckles, Tim Bran and David Morales amongst others, and spawned the two hit singles, ‘Time Of Our Lives’ and ‘Love Come Down’.

In 1996 Arista Records released the Alison Limerick ‘Club Classics’, a remix album. From this ‘Where Love Lives’ again topped the dance charts with ‘Make It On My Own’ following up. For the first time ‘Where Love Lives’ was released in the USA and reached no. 4 in the Billboard Hot Dance 100 Chart. To top off the year Alison was nominated for a MOBO Award.

Her first single on the Jammin Music label, became a Top 5 Dance smash, ‘Put Your Faith In Me’ was a collaboration with the Visnadi Brothers (who produced Livin’ Joy) and soon after her fourth album, ‘Spirit Rising’, followed.

There have been numerous writing/singing collaborations, including: ‘Love Will Keep Us Together’ with the James Taylor Quartet, several tracks for all four Vibrophonic albums and she has worked with the likes of Arthur Baker, Joe T Vanelli and Pete Waterman.

In 2016 she performed a number of live shows across Europe with the Brooklyn Funk Essentials alongside her ‘Where Love Lives’ partner Lati Krunlund and in 2017 performed with the Hacienda Classics Orchestra in Manchester. Her latest recording collaboration was with legendary NYC DJ Lenny Fontana with the single ‘Bye Bye’ released in 2018.

That same year Alison made three separate trips to Australia to tour with the ‘Ministry of Sound Orchestrated’ guesting alongside Sam Sparro, Crystal Waters and Daniel Merriweather.

She continues to record and sing live at various venues and events across Europe and in the summer of 2019 we welcomed her to our little festival. Alison duly delivered an incredible performance on our main stage that day, in front of the thousands of sunshine people gathered in front of her.
