Summer Soulstice committee members Dave James & Richard Weekes attended the Cherry Lodge AGM this week to give a short presentation & speak about how we continue our association with the long standing, Barnet based charity.

Richard, Jamesy & Mike from CLCCA short speech by our chairman Dave James at the end of the meeting was well received in the newly refurbished ‘Andy Weekes Room’ at Cherry Lodge’s HQ, a building they have been in since 2004. Both Richard & Dave were each presented with a bottle of wine from Macmillan Cancer Information Outreach Nurse Kirsty Mabb, whose annual wage is being paid for by Summer Soulstice’s fundraising & who does great work in & around the local area.

AGM presentation

While we at Summer Soulstice celebrate our first decade of existence this year, Cherry Lodge Cancer Care reminded everyone present that they are reaching their second, with their 20th anniversary fast approaching & their current building a far cry from the Portakabin in which they started off in the grounds of Barnet Hospital back in 1996.
All in all, it was a very positive evening, with a suggestion of organising an additional event later in the year, possibly at The Spires shopping centre in Barnet High Street, as well as getting together once again at our annual Big Payback over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
