Scouser Paul

As a kid, young Paul would delve into his mum’s Motown record collection, sparking a lifetime of love for quality black music…

By the 1980’s, he had become a keen clubber and discerning audiophile, always looking for the less commercial tunes and listening to the best sound systems.

Paul’s DJ break came in the late 1990’s when he was given his first job as a warm up jock at a Harlow soul night, playing soul and jazz. Later would come his transition to soulful house, although he still enjoys an occasional look back into “what got me here”, relishing the chance to unleash some underplayed but quality soul and jazz tracks.

Paul has gone on to feature at events like the Soul Village Weekenders, the Clacton Soul Weekender and enjoyed a long term residency at Bar 1802 (in London’s Docklands). Other gigs have included the Great Yarmouth Soul Festival SSW6 in Scotland and of course, the daddy of the all-dayers, Summer Soulstice!
