Ruth first began working in radio in the mid 1990’s whilst living in Israel, presenting on two stations in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv…

Returning to London in 2003, she became station manager for Soul 24-7 and presented a weekly show until its untimely closure the following year.

Ruth went on to be a presenter on stations such as Starpoint Radio, Stomp Radio and was also the ‘English’ voice on Urban Nation, an internet station based in the USA. In July 2010 she was asked to join Solar Radio to present the weekly specialist jazz show Notes & Tones, an eclectic mix in style, spanning the broad spectrum of jazz music.

Ruth loves to promote unknown and unsigned artists primarily in the jazz world and her informal style interviews have seen her interviewing such artists as the late Al Jarreau, Carmen Lundy, Roy Ayers, Christian McBride, Orphy Robinson, Kenny Garrett, Rene Marie, Arnie Lawrence, Cleveland Watkiss, Raul Midon, Tuck & Patti, Jeff ‘Tain’ Watts, Paulo Freso, Greg Errico and many more.

Ruth was also the first person in the UK to interview Gregory Porter in November 2010 & was the first UK journalist to cover the groundbreaking jazz festival in Sardinia called My Jazz IslandsLe mie isole jazz in June 2013.

Ruth has been a regular face at Summer Soulstice since the early years and is also a regular still on the airwaves at the likes of Delite Radio and since 2016, on Jazz FM with Full Circle.
