Ralph Tee

Ralph is one of the UK’s most respected soul DJ’s, independent record label owners and thankfully for us, he’s been a big supporter of Summer Soulstice too…

A native of North West London and raised on the sounds of soul, he was soon DJ’ing around his school and building up a big following. When he was 20 years old he launched the Soul magazine Groove Weekly and later became assistant editor at Blues & Soul magazine.

With soul music running through his veins, Ralph has been a club DJ since the 1970’s and broadcasting on radio since the 1980’s . He currently hosts Sunday afternoons 4pm – 7pm (GMT) on Jazz FM. Ralph also runs and co-owns the long established Expansion Records label and organises the popular, annual Luxury Soul Weekender in Blackpool.

Ralph says “I love the classics, but still always want to know what’s fresh out and play new music with the same sophistication and integrity of what’s gone before. Soul music is not just about nostalgia, though it’s great to spin the anthems on a party night”.
