Phil’s been listening to & collecting music for as long as he can remember & is as passionate & enthusiastic as ever to seek out new music & to share his knowledge.


He started DJ’ing over 30 years ago & his past residencies include Southend’s Back To The Tracks (7 years), Monday nights @ Wag, London’s Jazz Cafe (8 years), Point 101 (4 years) & Hi-Hat @ the Blue Note & the Jazz Cafe (10 years). Guest spots have also included the now legendary Sunday session Talkin’ Loud @ Dingwalls, The Jazz Rooms in Brighton & the Southport Weekender, as well as Groove Sanctuary @ Madame Jo Jo’s & upstairs @ Ronnie Scotts. Plus there’s been countless one-off events across Europe & the UK including the Cork Jazz Festival (Ireland), The Latin Beats Festival (Holland) & the world famous Montreaux Jazz Festival (Switzerland).

Phil’s past residencies include The Village @ East Village & he continues to run Eclectic Jazz, a much respected specialist radio show & website, with a loyal world-wide audience. 3 years ago he also launched The Eclectic Lounge. The emphasis on both shows is help promote new music & artists & to support independent record labels and are broadcast weekly on Starpoint Radio & Back2BackFM respectively.

Phil also writes a regular column in online magazine, Soulm8, as well as his own regular music blog & has been a regular in Soulstice’s Connoisseurs Room since our 2009 event.
