Phil’s been listening to and collecting music for as long as he can remember , he’s as passionate and enthusiastic as ever to seek out new music and share his knowledge…

He started DJ’ing some 30 years ago and his past residencies include Southend’s Back To The Tracks, Monday nights at The Wag, eight years at London’s Jazz Cafe and more than a decade with Hi-Hat at the Blue Note.

Guest spots have also included the now legendary Sunday session Talkin’ Loud at Dingwalls, The Jazz Rooms (Brighton), the Southport Dance Weekender, Groove Sanctuary at Madame Jo Jo’s and upstairs at Ronnie Scotts. Phil’s countless one-off events across Europe and the UK include the Cork Jazz Festival, The Latin Beats Festival (Holland), the world famous Montreaux Jazz Festival (Switzerland) and BolSoul (Croatia).

Other past residencies include The Village at East Village and he continues to run Eclectic Jazz, a much respected specialist radio show and website, with a loyal world-wide audience. A few years ago he also launched The Eclectic Lounge. The emphasis on both shows has always been to help promote new music and artists, plus support independent record labels. The shows are broadcast weekly on Starpoint Radio and Back2BackFM respectively.

Phil also contributed to online magazine Soulm8, and is currently playing regularly at The Village in Hoxton. He has been a regular in Summer Soulstice’s Connoisseurs Room since 2009.
