No stranger to club dance floors over the years, in more recent times, Marie has been making a name for herself on the other side of the decks as a DJ of some note…

She claims that as much as it reads like a cliché, she actually did grow up in a house constantly filled with music, whether it was reggae, soul, disco or pop, her parents were always dancing and singing along, making sure their kids joined in too.

So it makes sense that music is, and always has been, the centre of everything she does. However she never dreamt of becoming a DJ. “I was always happy attending events and enjoying watching and hearing the DJs do their job.” she says. After a regular slot on Stomp Radio with Gilo, Marie hooked up with Dave Cooper from DJ outfit Six Million Steps while attending a soul event in Spain.

It wasn’t long before Marie was guesting for the guys on their regular 6MS Sessions on Stomp, playing and mixing great soul and disco sounds.

As well as a fitness instructor and previously singing with a band called The Usual Suspects, Marie’s yearning for the glitter ball has seen her DJ’ing at the East Village in Shoreditch alongside 6MS, as well as in her own right at Spiritland,Camp Soul Festival, Brews & Soul and the Ibiza Soul Week, to name just a few.

Marie made her Summer Soulstice DJ debut in 2019 where she rocked the Club Tent with her mix of soulful disco and funky house and has since been a highlight of both our 2020 and 2021 virtual events.
