James is a DJ and broadcaster, writer and humanitarian, he founded a charity for children with cancer, as well as one to help older people too…

He hosted a regular show ‘A Soulful Experience with JL’, has always been passionate about good music and was part of the DJ line up in earlier days of Summer Soulstice.

His previous radio show JL Jamz, regularly featured big name interviews such as Spyro Gyra, Chaka Khan, Pieces Of A DreamThe TemptationsSounds Of Blackness, a mix unheard of on US radio. In addition he’s enthralled audiences all over the world through both his music and his life story.

At many speaking engagements, audiences are surprised to learn that this dynamic broadcaster/writer lost a child to cancer and is a founder and former CEO of a children’s cancer charity/non-profit organisation that’s helped thousands of children with cancer and their families every year, through a variety of services focused on the quality of life.

In 1992 James Lewis was the subject of a television documentary called ‘Smoothing The Stone’, a phrase Lewis used in his talks to describe the grieving process. In more recent years the charity Action For Elders which James is also heavily involved with, won £50,000 of Lottery funding on the TV show People’s Millions.
