North London boys Double J have racked up a few decades of DJ-ing experience between them, both on the club scene & at corporate & private events too.

You can rely on the two J’s to deliver the best possible music for the party & Soulstice is no exception, their afternoon sets have become must-see sessions. These guys are part of Barnet, like many of the Soulstice crew, they were at the same school: Queen Elizabeths Boys, albeit in different years.

JT (the tall one), went on to work in the UK music industry with the likes of Sleeping Bag Records, Arista Records UK which later became part of Sony BMG Entertainment & also wrote for the black music industry standard magazine Blues & Soul for more than 15 years. He currently consults for the likes of CD Pool in London. Having got the bug for soul, jazz funk & disco, JT was soon building a big record collection. A few years later, after sneaking into the likes of The Royalty (Southgate), Samantha’s (London) & The Mayfair (Tottenham), he began carving out a DJ career via a mobile sound system & then local residencies including The Dandy Lion. He even helped stage “Barnet’s first soul all-dayer” with artists such as Jocelyn BrownKenny Thomas, Lisa M & Glen Goldsmith all performing at the pub, which eventually became the place where the 2 J’s first hooked up musically.

Jamie F (the clever one) started DJ’ing (& drunk) in most of Barnet’s now decreasing pubs, but more memorably, was also the resident DJ in The Dandy Lion for more years than he cares to admit! Like JT, Jamie has also had a long standing friendship with the Weekes family & has been an avid supporter of Summer Soulstice since day one, when he visited the event as a punter. When he was eventually asked to DJ at Summer Soulstice, he jumped at the chance saying it was “an honour & a priviledge to be part of such a fantastic event.”

In 2013 the pair decided to double up their talents & play their particular brand of uplifting soul, house, boogie & hip hop. They now organise the highly successful Soulstice spin-off nights Brews & Soul which are held every 2-3 months at The Black Horse in Barnet, alongside other resident Jester Groove & regular special guest DJ’s. They’ve also played @ the likes of Secret Garden Party, Legends Of House in Corfu, Frogmarch & Kent’s Wheels & Fins Festival
