As for the music he provides, well his infamous ‘Aviary’ nights, which brought so much energy to many clubs in and around the London and the South, were instrumental in getting Birdy booked on many international events. These have included Salou Soul, Med Soul, Ibiza Soul Week and Summer Breeze. He feels blessed to have been booked to play on a myriad (too many to mention) of soul music events up and down the length of the UK too.
He also feels lucky to have played alongside many of his musical heroes including the legendary Frankie Knuckles, Joey Negro, Dimitri from Paris, Bob Sinclar, Kerri Chandler, Ron Carroll, DJ Spen, Jon Cutler, the late, great Paul ‘Trouble’ Anderson and Brandon Block, the list goes on.
Having served his apprenticeship on Starpoint Radio and learning his trade on ‘the airwaves’ over the past 15 years, he has also worked on various UK soul stations including House FM, Stomp, Zero and JFSR. He can now be found every fortnight on his local station on Colne FM every second Wed of the month between 8-10pm with his ‘Musical Menagerie Show’.
Birdy’s debut set at Summer Soulstice 2019 was a memorable one, as he spread those famous wings of his and entertained the crowd to a feel good, party session!
