Ash Selector

DJ, promoter, presenter, producer, remixer, all round good guy. Ash Selector has been with us from day one, having been a great friend of Andy Weekes

Ash’s own DJ exploits began back in 1980, playing soul, jazz funk, Brit funk & lovers rock @ student parties. He soon became a club DJ with a first residency: Soul Night @ Melanies in NW London & when the club changed the sound system, they sold the old one to Ash who then immediately set up the Rhythm Box Soul Sound hiring venues, playing & promoting his own events. He had his first taste of playing @ Notting Hill Carnival with the Peoples Choice International sound system & throughout the following years,

Ash continued to play on the club scene & presenting shows on Girls FM & Skyline FM.

He located a club called Flamingoes in Hanover Sq, London & invited Steve to co-promote/DJ with him. Called Shaft, it was launched in September that year & by April 2000 the it had been voted No.2 UK Club Night by Blues & Soul magazine with many guest DJ’s playing including Greg Edwards, Kwame (D’Influence) & Caister legends Chris Hill, Froggy & Gary Dennis.
