On Tuesday, February 7th, Soulstice Crew members, the Weekes family & Trustees & staff of Cherry Lodge Cancer Care gathered at their Howard House HQ in Barnet for the occasion of one of their drop-in rooms being dedicated to the memory of Andy Weekes.

Cherry Lodge’s Drop-In Sessions provide an opportunity for people with cancer to meet each other, overcome isolation & offer mutual support. A coffee and a chat with staff, volunteers & other people who may be going through, or have come through a similar experience, can make all the difference.

In a short & informal ceremony in front of around 50 people including Andy’s dad Charles Weekes, the Chair of the Cherry Lodge Cancer Care Trustees, Dr. Margaret Clark, named the room & thanked all the crew & everyone else who has been involved with Summer Soulstice’s fundraising for Cherry Lodge since 2007.  Over £100,000 has gone towards the Barnet based independent charity over the years, helping with their commitment to improving the quality of life for people living with cancer, their carers and families. Chair of Summer Soulstice, Dave James, also said a few words, praising Cherry Lodge’s hard work in the local community & for the dedication of the room to Andy.

Our link with Cherry Lodge has been further strengthened with the announcement that SS8 planning meetings for February & March will now be held at their Howard House HQ, & more precisely, in Andy’s room itself.
